After struggling with consistency from the faceoff X a season ago, the Terps showcased their prowess Saturday.
The Terps scored their most goals in a game since 2013.
“There were times [last year] when things didn’t go well, and we didn’t bounce back,” coach John Tillman said. “That’s something that we talked a lot about, something we focused a lot on."
The Terps were eliminated in overtime by Virginia in the NCAA tournament last season.
Julia Braig, Jen Giles and Megan Taylor made the first team.
Potential worries surfaced in the Terps' games before the NCAA tournament — but the team put them to bed with its title win.
Taylor anchored the Terps with 10 saves in their national title win over Boston College.
After coming up clutch frequently at the end of games, the Terps couldn't put it together against Virginia.
“Megan Taylor is awesome,” Boston College attacker Sam Apuzzo said. “[Maryland] was prepared.”
Goalkeeper Megan Taylor led the way with 10 saves.
