Maryland is suing on the grounds that Trump violated Congress’ decision, unlawfully re-allocated billions in funds and ignored federal requirements to consult with the state.
The park’s parent company, which manages more than 40 amusement parks across North America, announced it would close the sole Maryland location in May.
The government shutdown will stop nationwide distribution of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, commonly referred to as food stamps, on Nov. 1.
