Down three starting cornerbacks, the Terps let C.J. Stroud throw for over 400 yards as the Buckeyes put up 66 points.
The Terps have allowed under 100 rushing yards per game, one of four Big Ten teams to do so.
The Terps reached 3-0 for the first time since 2016 in pulling out a scrappy, ugly victory over the Fighting Illini.
Coach Mike Locksley emphasized the importance of his squad playing to their own standards and not to the opponent.
