Alsobrooks plans to support education initiatives proposed by the Biden administration, while Hogan hopes to continue work from his gubernatorial tenure.
The contest is one of the most-watched Senate races in the country and could decide who controls the Senate, which is currently narrowly held by Democrats.
Alsobrooks became Prince George’s County’s first female county executive in 2018 after serving as the state’s attorney in the county from 2011 to 2018.
By giving some students the option to attend private schools, legislators lose their imperative to responsibly oversee the implementation of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future.
The state has contributed $4 million to the project, which will help emergency management personnel make critical decisions about preparedness and deploying resources for the public, Hogan said.
