The University of Maryland School of Nursing in Baltimore is accelerating their program so students can join the workforce.
Maryland counties had already announced similar orders requiring face-coverings.
The order is effective at 5 p.m. Monday.
The announcement comes after Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan's recommendation Thursday morning.
Campuses should remain open, he said.
Drive-thru and food delivery services will continue to operate, he said.
One delegate proposed to call it "Olivia's Law."
Lawmakers heard arguments for and against the bill on Tuesday.
