At least 26 dorms and all South Campus Commons apartments, along with 21 university buildings were affected by Monday’s water outage.
Resident Life offered alternative sleeping arrangements by setting up mattresses for students in communal areas with air conditioning.
An email last month said the resident life department has experienced a notable increase in on-campus housing requests from new students.
Once the department has all of the products and dispensers, they will work to roll out the initiative into restrooms as soon as possible.
Housing priority policies must become more accommodating to diverse needs.
The university must finally prioritize the wishes of its students and make plans to install air conditioning in all on-campus dorm rooms.
