What to watch for Maryland: Does the domination continue?
In the first weekend of the tournament, Maryland was absolutely dominant. The Terps beat Mount St. Mary’s by 53 and Alabama by 36, having two of the more impressive victories of the tournament so far. Texas should pose a greater challenge than Mount St. Mary’s and Alabama, but Maryland should still be the heavy favorites. A blowout Sweet 16 win would send a big message to the rest of the country.
What to watch for Texas: Charli Collier
The Longhorns superstar forward Charli Collier has already entered her name in the WNBA Draft and is widely expected to be the No. 1 selection in this year’s draft. The junior is leading Texas in points and rebounds per game, averaging 19.7 and 11.6, respectively. She also has the best field goal percentage on the team, making 51.8 percent of her shots.
