All five residents vying for a spot participated in the debate, which was sponsored by local newspaper College Park Here and Now.
College Park voters will head to the polls on Nov. 5 for City Council elections.
Alan Hew was one of 11 people who applied for the vacant District 1 seat in June and was one of four interviewed for the position.
Kennedy said she thinks the city council isn’t focusing enough on larger policy initiatives, which she prioritizes.
Candidates discussed retaining non-student residents in the city, the American Rescue Plan and regulations of local dog parks.
The council will be voting on the proposed budget for the 2021 fiscal year on May 26.
