Beginning Saturday, the College Park Metro Station is closed through early September for platform renovations.
The Greenbelt, Prince George’s Plaza and West Hyattsville stations will also be closed through Sept. 6.
The closures are part of the Metro’s Platform Improvement Project, which will reconstruct outdoor platforms at 20 Metro stations. As part of the project, 11 stations in Virginia have undergone renovations, in addition to two stations on the blue and silver lines.
During the closures, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority is providing alternative travel options. There will be free shuttles that operate every six to 10 minutes between the Greenbelt, College Park and Fort Totten stations. There will also be local shuttle services that operate every 15 minutes between the Greenbelt, College Park, Prince George’s Plaza and West Hyattsville stations.
The Shuttle-UM #104 College Park Metro route will continue to operate its normal route during the summer.
