The 2020 elections, much like most things this year, are unprecedented. The coronavirus pandemic has left us with socially distant debates, virtual campaigning and millions of mail-in ballots.

In the state of Maryland alone, more than 1.5 million voters — about 260,000 of them in Prince George’s County — opted for mail-in ballots.

The coronavirus pandemic, paired with global protests for racial justice, has ushered issues such as policing, healthcare, immigration and the economy to the forefront of this election cycle.

The Diamondback has compiled a guide for Maryland voters to better understand the backgrounds and policy positions of the presidential and congressional candidates.

Early voting at Xfinity Center for county residents is currently open and runs through Nov. 2, and the arena will also be open for Election Day voting. The arena’s polls will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. A ballot box for Prince George’s County residents is located in Lot 4b near the arena.
