DJ Moore and Darnell Savage continued to stand out among Terps in the NFL with strong Week 13 performances. Here’s how everyone did:
WR DJ Moore
After hauling in six catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns in Week 12, Moore followed up his performance with another good game in Week 13, catching six passes for 75 yards and a touchdown in the Carolina Panthers’ 29-21 loss to the Washington Redskins on Sunday. The second-year pro now has 980 receiving yards on the season, good for fourth in the league. Moore figures to go over 1,000 yards for the first time in his career as he has developed into the top receiver in the Panthers’ passing attack. He has also reached the end zone three times in the last two weeks, which bodes well for his success heading down the stretch.
WR Stefon Diggs
Diggs hauled in four catches for 25 yards and rushed one time for 27 yards in the Minnesota Vikings’ 37-30 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night. Coming off a solid Week 12 performance where he caught five passes for 121 yards and a touchdown, Diggs now has 905 receiving yards on the season and has become the go-to wideout in recent weeks with teammate Adam Thielen nursing a hamstring injury.
DB Darnell Savage Jr.
Savage recorded four tackles and an interception in the Green Bay Packers’ 31-13 win over the New York Giants on Sunday. The 2019 first-round pick has become a key piece of the Packers’ secondary and remains in the top-five in terms of odds for defensive player of the year, per Sports Betting Dime.
DL Yannick Ngakoue
Ngakoue recorded two tackles in the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 25-11 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. The fourth-year pro now has 26 tackles, six sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception returned for a touchdown to his name this season. Playing in a contract year, Ngakoue figures to be in line for a big payday, whether from the Jaguars or someone else once free agency rolls around.
RB Ty Johnson
Johnson had three carries for 12 yards and caught three passes for 17 yards in the Detroit Lions’ 24-20 loss to the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving. Relegated to the backup role with the emergence of Bo Scarbrough in recent weeks, Johnson has yet to produce big numbers in his rookie season. Johnson will look to make a bigger impact when the Lions face Diggs and Minnesota in Week 14.
DB J.C. Jackson
Jackson recorded two tackles in the New England Patriots’ 28-22 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday night. While Jackson has not produced spectacular numbers this season, he has been part of one of the top defenses in the league on one of the league’s best teams. With one Super Bowl ring already in his short career, Jackson and the Patriots have put themselves in position for another chance at a ring in 2019.
LB Jermaine Carter Jr.
Carter recorded three tackles in the Panthers’ loss on Sunday.
LB Josh Woods
Woods did not record any statistics in the Bears’ 24-20 win over the Lions on Thanksgiving.
RB Trey Edmunds
Edmunds did not record any statistics in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 20-13 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
DL Byron Cowart
Cowart did not record any statistics in the Patriots’ loss.
DL Quinton Jefferson
Jefferson didn’t record any statistics in the Seahawks’ win on Monday night.
TE Vernon Davis
Davis has not played since suffering a concussion in Week 4 against the New York Giants.
