Three-star wide receiver Tai Felton has committed to Maryland football, he tweeted late Thursday night.

The Ashburn, Virginia, native chose the Terps over programs such as Nebraska, Duke, Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech.

With his commitment, Felton becomes Maryland’s top-ranked recruit in the 2021 class so far, per 247Sports.

The 6-foot-2 receiver was offered a scholarship in September and proceeded to tally 45 receptions for 901 yards and 11 touchdowns before tearing his ACL in October.

Despite the injury, the Terps stood by Felton and he rewarded them with his commitment.

Maryland’s 2021 receiving corps could feature plenty of familiar faces, as current starter Dontay Demus and 2018 breakout Jeshaun Jones would carry eligibility into the season.

Including Demus and Jones, 12 of the current 15 receivers on the roster — and the three wide receivers in the 2020 class — would be eligible to return to the program.

Felton becomes the third player in the Terps’ 2021 class, joining three-star athlete Jayon Venerable and cornerback Dante Trader Jr., who is also committed to play lacrosse at Maryland.
