Since Maryland football joined the Big Ten in the 2014 season, nearly all of their games have been found on the Big Ten Network. If they were not on BTN, you could most likely find them on the ESPN family of networks with an occasional appearance on a channel like Fox Sports 1.

However, Maryland’s game against Central Florida — as well as its previous game against Florida International — will be broadcast on a channel less readily available than BTN or ESPN: CBS Sports Network.

The most immediate problem with CBS Sports Network is that students living in on-campus housing, including Courtyards, don’t get the channel. While Comcast offers students high definition channels like ESPN and FS1, CBSSN is not available to students.

CBSSN also does not offer a stream of their channel to anyone who gets their cable from Comcast or Verizon. It only offers streaming to Cox, Frontier and Optimum users.

Additionally, the game will not be simulcast on WUSA or WJZ, the CBS affiliates for Washington and Baltimore, respectively.

A Twitter poll we ran found that 59 percent of those who responded do not have CBSSN as a part of their cable package.

Despite this, it is not all doom and gloom for watching the Terps play in Florida.

Students living in off-campus housing will most likely be able to watch the game. Residents of The View, Landmark and Terrapin Row will all be able to watch the game in their buildings.

Those who live in on-campus housing can also venture down to Route 1, where watering holes like R.J. Bentley’s, Cornerstone, Looney’s and Terrapin’s Turf will all be showing the game.

Fans who do not live in College Park should also be able to find the game at their local sports bar.

Maryland’s next football game will not be impossible to watch. However, it would be much easier to find it if it were on BTN or ESPN, not CBSSN.
