Terrapins football coach DJ Durkin has filled out his coaching staff with the hiring of Dave Borbely to be the offensive line coach, according to a press release.

Borbely most recently served the same role at Virginia in 2015 under new Terps associate head coach Mike London.

“I’m thrilled to round out my initial coaching staff at Maryland with the addition of Dave Borbely,” Durkin said in the release. “Dave has a wealth of experience coaching the offensive line and he is an outstanding teacher of the game. I know he’s excited about working with and developing our student-athletes.”

At Virginia, Borbely mentored offensive tackle Eugene Monroe, offensive tackle Branden Albert and offensive guard Austin Pasztor. All three went on to play in the NFL.

Borbely’s also previously coached the offensive line at Stanford, Notre Dame, Colorado and Louisville.
