Every few weeks, different chefs at South Campus Dining Hall create and serve a special dish reflecting their backgrounds or a part of their personalities at the Chef’s Table station.
During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset to celebrate the revelation of the Quran and draw closer to God, according to the Islamic Networks Group.
The new station serves halal food that is certified by the Islamic Services of America. The food is prepared and cooked on surfaces dedicated for halal foods.
The law aims to prevent waste before it occurs, feed people and animals, recycle non-edible food waste and reduce greenhouse gasses emitted from landfills.
