Maryland men’s basketball released its full 2024-25 schedule on Thursday.

The Terps open their 31-game season at home on Nov. 4 against Manhattan. They don’t have a true road game in their nonconference slate, and will only leave Xfinity Center for neutral site contests against Villanova and Syracuse.

Those two and Marquette are Maryland’s only high-major opponents outside the Big Ten. None of the other eight nonconference teams finished in the top-200 of KenPom’s 2024 rankings.

The Terps open Big Ten play with Ohio State on Dec. 4 in College Park and travel to Purdue on Dec. 8. They only have three nonconference games between then and their West Coast trip, where they’ll play at Washington and at Oregon on Jan. 2 and Jan. 5, respectively.

Every team will make one trip to play its new, cross-country Big Ten foes. The other new entrants, UCLA and USC, play in College Park.

The Big Ten tournament will also increase from 14 to 15 teams with the new conference expansion, which means the Terps must finish outside the bottom three to earn a berth.

Maryland will play Ohio State, Nebraska and Northwestern twice. Ohio State was the only one of the three that didn’t make the NCAA tournament last season, though it was 6-2 under then-interim coach Jake Diebler, who got the full-time job over the offseason.

The toughest stretch on the schedule could be facing Illinois and Indiana on the road on Jan. 23 and Jan. 26. The Fighting Illini are fresh off an Elite 8 appearance and the Hoosiers brought in one of the top transfer portal classes in the country.

Just three of Maryland’s eight games during winter break are at home, which means they’ll have more home games with students on campus. Four of Maryland’s final six games are at Xfinity Center.
