A University of Maryland student was reportedly collided with a DOTS bus on Sunday at approximately 3 p.m., according to University Police spokeswoman Sgt. Rosanne Hoaas. The accident took place in the area of Knox Road and Yale Avenue.

The victim, a female student, exited a parked vehicle and was attempting to cross the street when she collided with the bike rack located on the front of the shuttle bus, Hoaas said.

The student was okay after the incident and was not transported to a hospital, said Mark Brady, chief spokesman for the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department, in a text. The student did not sustain any major injuries.

Sunday was bid day for PanHellenic Association sororities, any some DOTS buses transported students to and from various chapter houses.
