For a second consecutive year, Maryland football offensive lineman Michael Dunn has earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention from the coaches and media, the conference announced Wednesday.

The senior left tackle joins linebackers Shane Cockerille and Jermaine Carter Jr., the Terps’ two leading tacklers, who earned the honor Tuesday.

Dunn, a former walk-on who has started 11 of 12 games this campaign, has become an mainstay in the offensive trenches the past two seasons. This year, he’s helped block for a Terps’ rushing attack that averages 205.5 yards per game, the third-best mark in the Big Ten.

The Terps racked up 318 yards in last weekend’s win against Rutgers, which secured the team’s bowl berth and extended Dunn’s Maryland career by another game.

“He’s consistent,” coach DJ Durkin said of Dunn during his media day press conference in August. “He’s a hard worker, finishes plays. He’s one of those guys that has that attitude about him to play through the end of the whistle.”
