Terrapins football associate head coach Mike London agreed to a two-year contract worth $800,000, according to a Memorandum of Understanding signed Dec. 8. The Diamondback obtained a copy of the agreement through a public records request.
London, who will also serve as the defensive line coach, joined the Terps after a six-year stint as Virginia’s head coach. He went 27-46 before resigning Nov. 29.
He’s set to earn a base salary of $100,000 for his first season in addition to $200,000 in supplemental income. In 2017, London’s slated to make a $350,000 base salary and $150,000 in supplemental income to be paid in quarterly installments of $37,500.
London could earn more up to $65,000 per year in bonuses. He’ll take home $10,000 if the Terps qualify for the Big Ten championship game and another $10,000 if they win.
If the Terps qualify for the national championship he’ll net an extra $25,000 with a $20,000 payout if they win.
He’ll also receive a $500 monthly car allowance and a $1,440 annual cell phone stipend.
