Local D.C. rapper Wale gave homage to Maryland’s superstar point guard in “Groundhog Day,” a song he released Saturday.

“My therapist terrible. I’m a Terrapin Melo Trimble-ing,” said Wale, who used Trimble’s name as a way to describe his uneasiness.

The Grammy-nominated artist’s words did not go unnoticed to the College Park favorite.

The mild-mannered point guard incidentally found himself in the middle of a response to J. Cole’s “False Prophets,” which appeared to be a message directed toward Kanye West, but may have been aimed at more than one rapper in the second verse.

Nonetheless Trimble definitely enjoyed the love he got and went to Instagram to show his appreciation:

P.S. Maryland plays a lot of close games.
