The Maryland men’s basketball team received a commitment from small forward Trace Ramsey on Thursday. He is the fifth member of Mark Turgeon’s 2018 recruiting class.

This year, Ramsey attended prep school at the Bosco Institute in Crown Point, Indiana. In 2017, Ramsey graduated from Valparaiso High School, where he averaged 14.8 points and 6.1 rebounds as a senior.

Maryland offered the 6-foot-7, 200-pound forward on April 19, according to a tweet from Ramsey, and Ramsey took an official visit to College Park earlier this week, according to 247Sports. The Terps were his first Power-5 offer.

Ramsey is an unranked recruit. He joins a recruiting class with one five-star, two four-stars and a three-star player. He’ll likely be a depth piece in a Maryland frontcourt that lost forward Justin Jackson and center Michal Cekovsky this offseason.

The Terps have one scholarship spot remaining, and Turgeon is still looking to make additions to his roster. On Tuesday, the Terps offered four-star forward Tyrese Samuel, according to 247Sports and are still hoping to land Pittsburgh transfer guard Parker Stewart, according to 247Sports.

The futures of forward Bruno Fernando and guard Kevin Huerter are still unclear, as they have entered the NBA Draft without an agent.

CORRECTION: Due to an editing error, a previous version of this article stated Trace Ramsey attended Don Bosco Prep Academy. He attended Bosco Institute. This article has been updated.
