The Maryland football team will host Northwestern on Oct. 13, 2017 as a part of the Big Ten’s Friday night primetime schedule, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

The first-ever matchup between the programs will air on either ESPN or FOX.

Northwestern will also welcome Michigan State to Evanston, Illinois, two weeks later. Nebraska visits Illinois on Sept. 29 as the third conference meeting in the package, while Rutgers, Wisconsin and Purdue host nonconference games on Friday nights.

Coach DJ Durkin’s squad has experience in Friday night outings. The Terps traveled to Miami and beat Florida International, 41-14, on Sept. 9 this season as part of their undefeated nonconference schedule.
