Nearly 5,000 students at this university have student visas. Eighty-four percent of these students have an F-1 visa, which grants international people a temporary stay in the U.S. to attend an accredited academic institution.
The lawsuit comes after colleges across the country have reported that international students have had their legal status unexpectedly terminated. Some University of Maryland international students have had their visas revoked.
The announcement comes after President Trump’s Monday executive order, which limits the issuing of H-1B visas, H-2B visas, H-4 visas, L-1 visas, and certain J-1 visas.
