The announcement comes after former diversity, equity and inclusion committee chair Mofi Solarin said she experienced microaggressions and racism from SGA leadership.
The resolutions come weeks after this university’s Students Supporting Israel chapter hosted three Israeli Defense Forces soldiers at an event on Oct. 21.
Darryll Pines wrote in a memo that he was disappointed SGA held a vote for a boycott, divestment and sanctions resolution on the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur.
The SGA will now send a public letter to the university asking that it formally recognize the union and post the letter on the student government’s social media and website.
