Despite the HEAL Line contact tracing the UMD community, some students report inconsistencies when it comes to the dorms.
The move comes as cases decline at this university and in Prince George’s County.
Large classrooms already have QR codes, but some smaller classrooms are still waiting for theirs.
The university's current COVID-19 response includes other virtual initiatives.
The university has been offering free coronavirus testing to all campus community members every weekday since Monday, and it will continue to do so through Sept. 4.
There will be reduced capacity in dorms, and courses with over 50 students will likely be held partially online.
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan announced that the state will reopen Friday.
