The updated lawsuit alleges that the university “infringed thousands of students’ civil rights” during its pause of IFC and PHA organizations' activities.
The plaintiffs are this university’s Theta Chi, Kappa Alpha Order, Alpha Sigma Phi and Alpha Tau Omega fraternity chapters along with other anonymous students.
Chapter members are currently prohibited from holding events with alcohol and communicating with new members about fraternity and sorority-related matters.
The cease and desist order prevents current members of fraternities and sororities from talking to new members about “Greek-letter organization activities.”
The order came after this university received notice of chapters conducting activities that posed threats to community members’ "safety and well-being."
