SGA President AJ Pruitt called the reassignment a conflict of interest, and said in a statement that Title IX Officer Catherine Carroll called it a “demotion” in a conversation with him.

More than 40 University of Maryland students and local activists attended the event.

The center is scheduled to open in January 2019.

The affected residents will each be granted a partial housing fee compensation.

They are each seeking $1.5 million from this university, as well as an injunction preventing further discrimination from the department.

Some students called for a place on the campus to connect to other students with disabilities, as well as a disability studies minor.

The students hope their transcriptions will be used for future research.
