Testudo will now be accessible to University of Maryland students nearly all day.
Some of the website’s services previously operated from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday. Now, the services will be available all of the time with the exception of a daily maintenance period from 5:45 a.m. to 6:30 a.m., according to the website.
University vice president and chief information officer Jeffrey Hollingsworth told The Diamondback in a statement that the extension of these hours would help the university’s ongoing efforts to replace Testudo with Workday Student.
Workday Student, The Diamondback previously reported, is a cloud-based module set to replace online platforms like Testudo, Venus and the Student Financial Aid Portal in 2028.

“We are pleased to extend hours of operation of the Testudo system to coincide with the start of the Fall 2025 semester to better meet our students’ needs as we work to deploy Workday Student,” Hollingsworth’s statement read.
Workday Student is the final phase of the larger Elevate Program introduced by the university in 2021. The project’s goal is to modernize and simplify data access for the campus community, according to Elevate’s website.
This new platform will allow students to access financial aid, register for classes and view transcripts through a mobile app with 24/7 accessibility, this university’s senior vice president and provost Jennifer King Rice said in a February town hall meeting.
“This is a really great perk, a really important upgrade for our student users,” she said at the town hall.
