Adams-Stafford was elected to the Prince George’s County Board of Education in 2020 and was reelected for a second term during a general election in November. She resigned from the position on Dec. 19 to run for the county council seat.
She’s also the CEO and founder of AdaptiveX, a professional development and software company, according to her campaign website.
The District 5 council member seat was up for election after Jolene Ivey, who held the position from 2018 to 2024, won a special election in November for the council’s at-large seat.
As a council member, Adams-Stafford hopes to lower taxes and improve access to different programs for seniors, according to her website.
She also aims to improve employment opportunities within the county by working with local unions, businesses and educational organizations to implement job training programs, her website said.
Adams-Stafford is set to serve as council member for the remainder of Ivey’s four-year term, which ends in 2026.
