Fourteen of those killed were returning from the figure skating development camp, according to the Associated Press.
Olivia was a member of Fort Washington’s Tucker Road Ice Rink and was one of four local youth skaters attending the development camp, Thursday’s news release said. The camp serves as a stepping stone for athletes aiming to compete for Team USA, according to the news release.
“[Olivia] was one of ours,” Prince George’s County Council chair and county executive candidate Jolene Ivey said in a Facebook statement. “The heartbreak over the plane and helicopter crash is increasing as we learn more about the victims.”
