Shake Shack is set to open Wednesday in the Union on Knox apartment complex, according to the restaurant.
Shake Shack, known for its burgers and milkshakes, is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday before its grand opening at 11 a.m. The first 50 guests in line when the restaurant’s doors open will receive custom merchandise, according to Shake Shack.

The restaurant will donate $1 from every sandwich purchased Wednesday to the University of Maryland Campus Pantry.
Chopt Creative Salad Company and Duck Donuts are also scheduled to open in Union on Knox soon, while Pho Thom and Insomnia Cookies are relocating from other College Park locations to the development.
