More than a dozen University of Maryland buildings do not have power, according to a campuswide UMPD alert Monday morning.

Classes in affected buildings will not meet in person for the rest of the day, a Monday afternoon campuswide email read. Facilities Management crews expect power to be restored in all impacted buildings by Monday evening, according to the email.

Stamp Student Union, the Health Center and McKeldin Library will be closed for the day, according to the email. All academic buildings affected by Monday’s power outage will reopen Tuesday at 8 a.m, the email added.

The campuswide email encouraged faculty to provide asynchronous work for students or to cancel classes.

According to a university news release on Monday, the buildings without power include:

  • Jimenez Hall
  • McKeldin Library
  • Dorchester Hall
  • St. Mary’s Hall
  • Symons Hall
  • Turner Hall
  • Rossborough Inn
  • Health Center
  • Tawes Hall
  • Benjamin Building
  • Cole Student Activities Center
  • Stamp Student Union
  • Knight Hall
  • Union Lane Parking Garage
  • Shipley Field
  • Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center
  • Physical Sciences Complex
  • Atlantic Building

Classes in buildings with power are not included in the cancellation, according to the campuswide email.
