McClain Delaney has defeated Parrott in the closely watched race for Maryland’s sixth congressional district, according to the Associated Press.
McClain Delaney holds a more than four percentage point advantage over Parrott with about 92 percent of votes counted.
Democrats will control seven of the state’s eight U.S. House seats.

McClain Delaney has stretched out her lead over Parrott to more than 4,000 votes with about 87 percent of votes counted, according to the Associated Press.
The district includes Allegany, Frederick, Garrett and Washington counties, and parts of Montgomery County, the state’s most populous county.
In Montgomery County, about 17 percent of the votes are left to be counted. Delaney is winning nearly 70 percent of the votes in Montgomery County.

Democrat April McClain Delaney is locked in a tight race with Republican Neil Parrott for Maryland’s sixth congressional district. McClain Delaney leads Parrott by about 300 votes with 84 percent of the votes counted.
The Democrats are attempting to hold the seat after Rep. David Trone (D-Md.) vacated the seat to run for U.S. Senate.

Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski (D-Md.) won the race for Maryland’s second congressional district, defeating Kim Klacik, according to the Associated Press. Olszewski has earned more than 55 percent of the vote with about 82 percent of votes counted, according to the Associated Press.
In the third congressional district, state Sen. Sarah Elfreth (D-Anne Arundel) defeated Republican Robert Steinberger. Elfreth holds a more than an 18 percentage point advantage, according to the Associated Press.

The Associated Press has called five U.S. House races in Maryland.
Rep. Andy Harris (R) retained his District 1 seat with his win. Harris has 62 percent of the vote with about 72 percent of votes counted, according to the Associated Press.
Democrats Glenn Ivey, Steny Hoyer, Kweisi Mfume and Jamie Raskin all won reelection in their districts.
