The Greene Turtle, a sports bar and grill, opened Wednesday in the College Park Shopping Center, according to Kevin Curley, the restaurant’s culinary and beverage vice president.
The restaurant chain, which has 33 locations across the East Coast, opened in the site previously occupied by Jason’s Deli.
Customers can expect to find classic American staples, such as burgers and sandwiches, along with a wide selection of signature cocktails, according to the restaurant’s online menu.
The restaurant previously announced on Instagram that it would open its doors on Friday. Greene Turtle will host a grand opening celebration on Friday at 9 p.m. with music from PB&J Sounds, a local DJ group, according to Greene Turtle’s Instagram post.

The post added that the restaurant will host a party called Club Turtle on Saturday nights for the rest of the semester.
For both events, entrance will be free of charge, the post stated, but both parties are restricted to people that are at least 21 years old with a valid ID.
According to Curley, the restaurant will also host a daytime grand opening celebration with a ribbon cutting ceremony for the public in the next couple of weeks.
“It’s been a long time coming, and we just wanted to get open as quickly as possible once we could,” Curley said of Wednesday’s opening.
Michael Williams, College Park’s economic development director, told The Diamondback in September that he hopes the restaurant will not only serve as a “college bar,” but that it also will cater to College Park residents and families in the area.
