The New York Knicks selected Mustaf as the 17th overall pick in the 1990 NBA draft. The 6-foot-10 forward enjoyed a four-year NBA career with the Knicks and Phoenix Suns, averaging four points and 2.5 rebounds per game from 1990 to 1994. He then went overseas until 2001, including stops at Barcelona FC in Spain and PAOK Thessaloniki in Greece.
Mustaf was born in North Carolina and attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville. He was one of the best recruits in the nation when he committed to Maryland, according to The Washington Post.
