Campus Drive has reopened after a gas line was struck Tuesday morning, according to a University of Maryland spokesperson.

The road was closed to vehicles for several hours Tuesday as a gas line was struck near the Edward St. John Learning and Teaching Center, according to a UMPD alert at 11:20 a.m. The pedestrian crosswalk between Symons Hall and Hornbake Library was also temporarily closed, a 12:51 p.m. University of Maryland Police alert said.

The 12:51 p.m alert said that Washington Gas had stopped the gas leak. Police advised people to stay away from the area and use alternative routes.
