Multiple cars in the Landmark Apartments parking garage were broken into Saturday.

The break-ins occurred late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, according to the Prince George’s Police Department.

“The PGPD is investigating the report of multiple car break-ins at the complex overnight 09/30 into the morning of 10/01,” the police department said in a statement to The Diamondback. “We are working to identify the suspect(s).”

Samantha Marton, a senior government and politics major, lives in Landmark and said she found her car had two broken windows. Marton said the perpetrators only took spare change from the car.

“From what I’ve heard by at least three people now, they haven’t taken anything of value,” Marton said.

The break-ins come after a recent string of car part thefts, including tire thefts at Mowatt Lane Garage on the University of Maryland’s campus last week.

Marton said police warned her about an increase in criminal activity around the apartment complex after Saturday night’s break-ins.

Anyone with information on the break-ins should contact the Prince George’s County Crime Solvers program, PGPD said in its statement.
