Marking an end to its 3-year hiatus, this year’s UMD Powwow took place at the Stamp Student Union on March 11, where hundreds of people came together to celebrate Native American culture. The gathering allowed attendees to learn more about Native American heritage, all while enjoying a celebration filled with singing and dancing.
Ayden Allston, president of the Native American and Indigenous Student Union, played a large role in planning the on-campus Powwow. In this video, Allston talks about the importance of building community.
