WASHINGTON — Pop princess Dua Lipa brought back all that is good and right through the Washington, D.C., stop of her Future Nostalgia tour at Capital One Arena.

Openers Lolo Zouaï and Caroline Polachek slayed the stage and kept audience members captivated while they anxiously waited nearly two hours for the headliner. Also, let me note, the amazing all-female lineup was a thrilling start to Women’s History Month.

Anything you could ever ask for in a concert, Lipa provided. If you were expecting only one jaw-dropping outfit, boy were you in for a treat! Not one, not two, but four outfit changes — each one more dazzling than the other, with two quite literally covered in sparkles.

Lipa’s portion of the concert began with a credit reel featuring all her dancers, backup singers and band members. Then, as if she were the sun herself, the singer literally rose through the stage for her main entrance, blinding fans with her bright neon chartreuse catsuit.

The entire stadium was shrieking, and I will admit, I do believe I let out a squeal myself. She put on a full theatrical experience for an arena packed with concert goers hoping for just that. Unique props, videos and a full on-stage cast of dancers and backup singers.

Getting to see Lipa dance, sing and accidentally throw her microphone off the stage will keep me more than fulfilled until next time.
