The Big Ten announced its men’s basketball schedules on Wednesday afternoon, and Maryland’s 2021-22 season will mostly return to normal.

Xfinity Center will open to 100 percent capacity, and the Terps will play a full slate of games against conference and nonconference opponents.

Maryland’s conference schedule opens at home Dec. 5 against Northwestern. The regular season will end March 6 at Michigan State.

The Terps will play 20 conference games, of which they’ll face seven teams twice in a home-and-home.

Maryland will play conference rival Michigan in Ann Arbor on Jan. 18 for the two teams’ only meeting of the 2021-22 slate. Coach Mark Turgeon’s squad will also only play Wisconsin, Purdue, Nebraska, Penn State and Minnesota once this season.

The Terps’ games against the Badgers, Nittany Lions and Golden Gophers will be played at home, with rival Penn State coming to College Park on Feb. 21. Maryland will also square off with Michigan State, Ohio State, Indiana, Illinois and Iowa at home this season.

Between its first conference game against Northwestern and it second against Iowa on Jan. 3, Turgeon’s squad will face nonconference opponents at the Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational in Brooklyn. They will also play Loyola, Maryland, and Brown at Xfinity Center a week before 2022.

This leads into the conference tournament, which will take place March 9-13 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Game times and TV designations will be announced at a later date.
