More than a dozen buildings on the University of Maryland’s North Campus were left without power after an electric outage Wednesday morning, according to emails from facilities management obtained by The Diamondback.
The outage affected the Cambridge Community, the Iribe Center and the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, among other buildings. Facilities Management restored the power within two hours, according to a statement from this university.
After evaluating the campus’s electric system, Facilities Management determined the outage was caused by a faulty feeder.
Engineers are assessing the situation and will make repairs as needed, according to the university statement.
