All in-person and online classes at the University of Maryland are canceled Thursday due to inclement weather, according to a UMD Alert Wednesday evening. COVID-19 testing on the campus is also canceled, according to the alert. 

University community members who were scheduled to receive a coronavirus test Thursday to be cleared to return to the campus will be extended a grace period, according to information provided by a university spokesperson.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for most of the state of Maryland, effective from 3 a.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday. 

Employees will receive administrative leave, and essential snow personnel should report to their jobs, the alert read.
