Prince George’s County Police arrested and charged a man on Monday in connection with a domestic-related homicide in Langley Park, according to a news release.
Police responded to the 1400 block of Kanawha Street at approximately 5:10 a.m. on Saturday to the report of an unresponsive person, the release read. Police discovered the victim, 48-year-old Gumercinda Juarez-Vasquez of Langley Park, suffering from trauma inside her home, according to the release. She was pronounced dead at the scene, the release read.

Marciano Lucas Ramos, a 24-year-old Langley Park resident, was arrested in connection with Juarez-Vasquez’s death and charged with first and second degree murder, the release read. Ramos and Juarez-Vasquez were in a relationship, and police believe Ramos pushed Juarez-Vasquez during an argument, causing a fatal injury to her head, according to the release.
Ramos was ordered to be held without bond in the Department of Corrections, and the release did not say who will be representing him. The Maryland Office of the Public Defender, who represented Ramos in a February assault case, was not available for comment about whether it would be representing him again.
