University of Maryland and Prince George’s County police responded to an attempted robbery near the Campus Village shopping center Tuesday, according to a UMD alert sent at about 12:15 p.m. No property was taken, according to the alert.
The incident occurred on the 8100 block of Baltimore Avenue near Navahoe Street, the alert read.
Two individuals demanded property from the victim, who was walking through the shopping center, according to police. There were no weapons involved, according to the alert.
In a second UMD alert sent at about 12:40 p.m., police wrote they believe one individual was wearing a dark-colored face mask, a burgundy hoodie and jeans and the other individual was wearing a multicolored face mask, had face tattoos and was wearing a blue shirt.
The two individuals were last seen running toward Berwyn House Road, according to the second alert. University and county police are still in the area searching for the suspects, the alert read.
University police issued an all clear in a final alert released at about 12:55 p.m. County police are investigating the incident and will remain in the area, according to the alert.
