An attempted robbery of a University of Maryland student occurred off-campus early Thursday morning, next to the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex, according to a community notice from the university’s police department.
A male student was walking southbound on a trail behind Parking Lot 11B at about 2 a.m. when a man approached him and demanded his property, the alert read. The suspect then left the scene and headed north on the trail, according to the notice.
University Police learned of the incident at about 12:31 p.m.
The Prince George’s County division of the Maryland-National Capital Park Police is investigating the incident.
