Police responded to an armed robbery near the University of Maryland’s campus Thursday night, according to a UMD alert.

In an alert sent at about 7:36 p.m., University Police wrote the incident occurred on the 7500 block of Girard Avenue. The robbers demanded property and fled towards the Lakeland neighborhood across Campus Drive, the alert read.

The suspects implied they had a weapon, but did not reveal one, according to Prince George’s County spokesperson Cpl. Lamar Robinson.

At about 8:47 p.m., police issued an “all clear” for the incident after officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects, a third alert read. Officers will continue to be present in the area, and Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating the incident, according to the alert.

There is no additional suspect information at this time, Robinson said.
