A University of Maryland student identified himself as the suspect in a reported burglary in Somerset Hall that occurred Sunday morning.
A female student told police she saw an unknown white male sleeping in her bed at about 5:10 a.m. He was told to leave and exited down a stairwell, according to a UMD alert. Later that day, the male identified himself as the suspect, according to a safety notice published on the University of Maryland Police Department website.
The male told police he was staying with his girlfriend, who is also a student at this university, and when he left the room and attempted to return, he entered the wrong room, according to the notice.
