Prince George’s County Police have arrested and charged a man for the homicide of a tow company employee early Sunday morning near the College Park Metro.

Damian Howard, 24, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with second degree murder, assault and related charges, according to a department press release. He is being held without bond.

At about 1:50 a.m. Sunday, police responded to the 5000 block of College Avenue for a towing dispute, according to the release. Upon arrival, police found Howard holding the victim, who was unconscious, in a chokehold. Three officers attempted to revive the victim with CPR, the release read.

The victim, Tarreak Butler, 41, of Washington, D.C., was pronounced dead at a hospital about an hour later. An autopsy determined Butler died of asphyxia strangulation.
