A water outage at the University of Maryland’s South Campus Commons 2 began Tuesday evening after an emergency repair disrupted the water system, according to an email sent to residents.
There is no estimate for how long the outage will last, the email read.
The email instructed residents to make alternative plans for showers during the outage. Showers are available at Ritchie Coliseum until midnight, and at Eppley Recreation Center from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the email.
“We regret the necessity for this emergency repair and thank you for your patience and understanding,” the email read.
An email from Commons at 11:30 p.m. said the problem “should be resolved,” adding that water may be discolored after students turn it on.
