Police responded to a report of an armed robbery near the University of Maryland’s campus early Thursday morning, according to a UMD alert.
In an alert sent at about 2:20 a.m., University Police wrote that the incident occurred near Knox Road and Yale Avenue. They identified the suspect as a male wearing a gray shirt and carrying a blue backpack.
The suspect later fled the area, police wrote in a subsequent alert. They issued an all clear at about 3 a.m.
Prince George’s County Police are investigating the incident, University Police spokesperson Rosanne Hoaas wrote in a message.
